Another mini quilt …..and an incredible storm!

February 19, 2015

017I had so much fun making the first mini quilt that I made this one last week during a class where the gals made larger versions of this one. Here are a couple of their finished quilts…as usual, the pieces look wonderful!

Peggys snowy fieldAren’t they great??!!

I will be teaching a class here in my studio next Thursday. This one will be on my RED CLIFFS quilt.

IMG_7977That should be fun! 🙂

OK…on to the big storm. We are talking winds up to 120km per hour for about 2 days. It seemed like we were in a vortex or something here because the wind was blowing snow straight sideways in one direction behind the house, and the other direction in front!!

After it was all over, we found snow in the strangest places.

002 (Large)Believe it or not, that garage door was CLOSED! This is what we found when it was opened again!

013 (Large)This building is about 40′ long and the snow blew in and covered tools etc that were on a bench 1/2 way back!! You can see how high the snow was in the doorway.

021 (Large)There is a road under there…somewhere!!

028 (Large)Across the front steps.

026 (Large)The farm across the way…

And finally….another cool shape in the window. It sort of looks like a horse’s eye…or a Capybara.

012Well….all of you in areas where Spring is happening……enjoy!!

Happy quilting!

I love the mini quilt and the students work is great! We got lots of snow here too, in bathurst, but not what you did. I have family in summer side and charlottetown. Amazing!

Your little quilts are gorgeous, Carol! I wondered how you were doing with that nasty weather over the Maritimes! We saw a bit on TV about it, and were aware that it was really quite severe. That is so amazing how the snow blew into the garage, even with the door closed! Just shows what a powerful storm it was!
